Dimmett Seeks Quick Trial
Boonville, Ind. Feb 16- Waiving a preliminary hearing in justice court set for Feb. 25, Ernest Dimmett, charged with shooting Dr. Q.L. Williams, has asked for an immediate trial of his case in the Circuit Court. Dimmett filed a new bond with twenty-five neighbors as sureties. Dimmett asserts that he shot Dr Williams in defense of his sister, wife of Dr Williams.

Boonville, Ind.- March 21- "Not Guilty" was the verdict returned after only a few minutes deliberation by the jury in the case of Ernest Dimmett, charged with shooting Dr Quincy L. Williams, his brother in law. Dimmett said that he shot Dr Williams in defense of his sister. Mrs Williams testified in favor of her brother, asserting she had appealed to him for protection after her husband had horsewhipped her.

Free After Shooting Doctor Accused of Horsewhipping Sister
Boonville, Ind.- March 22- General satisfaction has been expressed here over the acquital yesterday of John Ernest Dimmett, charged with shooting his brother in law, Dr Quincy L. Williams. Dimmett asserted that he shot in defense of his sister, who had taken refuge in the Dimmett home. Mrs Williams testified that her husband had horsewhipped her and beaten her with his fists.
